DJ Clash features two of the most popular and seminal DJ’s from the early 1980’s DJ era, when Nicodemus and Toyan were DJ’s on Jamaica’s biggest sound system at the time – Volcano.
Recorded in 1982, produced by Henry “Junjo” Lawes, engineered and mixed by Soljie Hamilton, Errol Thompson & Barnabas and backed by The High Times Band & Roots Radics.
This is an essential part of the history of Greensleeves Records with the DJ’s that paved the way for the likes of Sean Paul, Elephant Man and all the current crop of modern dancehall DJ’s.
The album contains five tracks-a-piece from each artist in a Sound Clash style demonstrating their abilities to ride the rhythms in fine style, taking you back to those Volcano dancehall days.
This is the first time this album has appeared digitally in its original form and will not be available physically on CD or Vinyl format.
