`Turbo Charged’ - one of the defining albums of the digital dancehall period finally gets a reissue.
The late Nitty Gritty, along with artists like King Kong, Tenor Saw and Anthony Red Rose were ahead of the pack at the time and were untouchable in the dancehall and for a time dominated the digital rhythms coming out of Jamaica.
Turbo Charged was Nitty Gritty’s debut album, originally released on Greensleeves back in 1986. Produced by the legendary Prince Jammy (soon to be King), this album has stood the test of time, and with the current revived interest in the mid 80’s digital sound, the timing of this reissue could not have been better.
Features the killer hits `Hog In a Minty’, Gimme Some Of Your Something’ and `Run Down The World’ and many more.
As well as the original 10 tracks that were featured on the original album, you get four bonus tracks culled from rare and sough-after Greensleeves 12” singles including `Run Down The World’, 'Man In A House" & `False Alarm’
A lasting testament from Nitty Gritty. You can kill the man but not his music.
