Here he comes, the reissue of ENGLISHMAN the classic set from reggae veteran BARRINGTON LEVY. The late 70's was a fruitful time for reggae music and in particular dancehall reggae which was defined and dominated by the work of Jamaican producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes. ENGLISHMAN was first released in 1979 and to huge critical acclaim. Barrington was a firm favourite in the UK and you could hear his popular songs in big doses at the many shubeen clubs or blues dance which were the outlets to hear reggae music back in the day. ENGLISHMAN also sealed the fate of this young twentysomething who subsequently went on to become an international favourite and one of Jamaica's biggest stars.

Recorded at the legendary Channel One and King Tubby's studios with the tuffest and ruffest house band of the day The Roots Radics Band and mixed by Scientist & Prince Jammy. The remastered ENGLISHMAN contains the original ten tracks and additional DJ and dub cuts ENGLISHMAN and SISTER CAROL both 12" mixes, THE DAUGHTER THEM IRIE and PUT ON ME CLARKES both featuring DJ SCORCHER have been added to this superb album for the first time ever.
